Zeek Rewards Update: North Carolina Attorney General Civil Investigation Demand

Posted on 17 August 2012.

Our good friend, MLMWatchDog had the following update about Zeek Rewards Shut Down:

“The North Carolina Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division has done something to cause the website to be shut down because of their investigation. The AG had started a Civil Investigative Demand, that rarely doesn’t shut a company down. Normally the AG will get a Temporary Restraing Order (TRO) to to lock doors and shut down commerce. No court action on the AG’s website so we don’t know if the shut doors & missing URL was on part of the AG’s office or voluntary on Zeek’s part. Zeek has not sent out any email information.”

Here’s a video update from our buddy, Troy Dooley over at MLMHelpDesk (Troy’s website has crashed likely due to the traffic this story has created!):

11 Business Rules You Should Know

A couple of weeks ago I came across an interesting post by my buddy Neil Patel. Neil is one of the most successful online marketers and entrepreneurs I know, so when he talks about business, I listen.

The post is called 11 Rules to Work By, and he basically shares some tips he learned along the way of building his online business. Here’s the first one:

Rule #1: Never fly solo

Google, Apple, Groupon, Zygna, and Microsoft are just a few of the examples of companies that are doing very well. Do you know what they all have in common? They were all founded by multiple co-founders.

If you want to get into the business world, do it with someone. Flying solo may sound great at first, but things can get tough if you don’t have a co-pilot. This way when you are unsure of what to do when things get tough you have someone you can consult.

The most important time to have a co-founder is when you first start your company. This is typically the time where cash is tight and you can’t afford to hire people even though there is a ton of work that needs to be done.

If you are one of those lucky few that already have a co-founder, good for you! If you don’t you should read this article, as it will help you find the perfect business partner.

Make sure to read the whole article, as the other 10 tips are quite valuable as well. If you think there’s a tip missing feel free to share it with a comment below.

What’s More Important for Bloggers, Style or Content?

Some people believe that good writing will always win out. A good writer will be read, regardless of what they write about.

Other people believe that content alone is king. If you have great information, it’ll be read – even if the way it’s written isn’t so good.

Personally, I think the truth lies somewhere between these two extremes.

On the one hand, content matters: if you have nothing to say, you’re unlikely to find an audience. Style won’t win out over substance.

But on the flip side, content alone isn’t quite enough. After all, which post would you rather read?

“Ten WordPress Tips”“Ten Easy Ways to Get the Most From Your WordPress Blog – Today”

I think you’ll agree that the second one sounds much more enticing … even though both posts might have the exact same information.

If you know you’re a good writer but you’re struggling to build an audience, the problem might lie with your content.

To improve, try:

Asking your readers what they want you to write about. You might be surprised!Focusing on giving value with every post – ask yourself “what will the reader get out of this?”Writing list posts or “how to” posts – these are easy ways to offer something useful.Narrowing down your niche – focus on one key topic area, rather than writing about anything and everything that interests you.

If you’re packing your posts full of value but not getting much response, the problem might lie with your style.

To improve, try:

Spending more time editing each post after you write it. Try reading it aloud to get the flow of sentences and paragraphs right.Crafting great titles and gripping introductions that hook your readers and encourage them to read on.Writing in a friendly, direct way, as though you’re addressing just one person. Use “you” more than you use “I”.Asking a friend to review your post and point out areas where the writing could be improved.

I’d love to hear what you think about style vs content. Do you feel that your strengths lie more in one area than the other? Do you prefer blogs with useful, in-depth content, or ones with a great writing style that makes for enjoyable reading? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Google AdSense for Feeds Will Be Shut Down. Feedburner Next?

Last week Google announced a new spring cleaning round, which is basically when they decide to shut down services that they don’t consider important or relevant anymore. Normally those are services that very few people are still using, indeed, but on the latest round that was one curious item: Google AdSense for Feeds.

I use that product, and make a decent amount of money with it (combining all my sites close to $1000 per month). So yeah after December 3rd that will be gone.

I suspect that there are still a lot of people using it as well, as AdSense for Feeds was the main/best method to monetize an RSS feed. Even if you only made $100 per month it was still good money, as it could pay for your hosting fees, for instance.

In other words, I don’t agree with Google’s decision. I would rather have them announce they won’t be updating the service anymore or providing support for it, instead of completely shutting it down.

But hey that’s life. They probably had their reasons, so let’s accept that.

If you made decent money with AdSense for Feeds there’s one immediate alternative: substitute those units with private banner ads or affiliate offers.

The shut down of AdSense for Feeds raises another important question, though: is that a signal that Google’s overall plan is to shut down Feedburner? There are many people around the web speculating so.

If this is the case such a measure will affect A LOT more people. I am sure there will be alternatives around to deliver your RSS feed, but changing that will be a bit of a pain if you have a large subscriber base.

Stay tuned for the next chapter of the RSS saga.

Former Arbonne Sr. VP Candace Keefe Joins Bioceutica (Former Trump Network)

Posted on 16 August 2012.

I know, a lot of formers going on in that blog title.

Multiple sources (and now a press release) are telling me that Candace Keefe has accepted the position of CEO at Bioceutica which used to be Trump Network and Ideal Health before that.

Candace was a well respected Sr. VP ar Arbonne who left the company to (seemingly) co-found her own company called Apriori.

Later Candace seemed to run into trouble with her other partners and left Apriori, causing a bit of a stir and a few “I told you so’s” from Arbonne folks.

Here’s the press release:

Bioceutica LLC has appointed multi level marketing industry guru Candace Keefe as its new CEO. The company’s new owners approached Candace when they heard that she was looking for a new challenge. “Her track record is unimpeachable and her career in multi level marketing is well documented,” said Bioceutica’s chairman Antoine Nohra. “She has been at the forefront of many of the industry’s successes. We are delighted to have reached an agreement with Candace and secured her commitment to Bioceutica.”

“Like all businesses today, Bioceutica faces considerable challenges as the American economy goes through a period of adjustment. Today, companies need leaders with vision and energy. They need leaders who are brave and informed,” said Mr. Nohra.

One of Ms. Keefe’s first tasks is to revamp the company’s compensation plan. “I firmly believe that to be successful, a company’s marketers need to be well rewarded,” she said. “Bioceutica will be introducing an industry-leading compensation plan created for the 21st century; one that addresses the challenges of today and ensures that hard work is very well rewarded.”

Another priority for Candace is the enhancement of Bioceutica’s product line—an area where Candace excels. “Every successful company needs good products,” she said. “The collective vision for Bioceutica is to offer the very best-in-class products in the health and beauty industry.”

To this task, the new CEO brings unrivalled expertise and close working relationships with the beauty care industry’s top people. In the near future, the company plans to launch a range of products that will be not only impactful and effective, but to which Bioceutica owns outright the intellectual property rights and formulae.

Bioceutica has for a long time been a sleeping giant. Today, with a new management team and a charismatic CEO at the helm, the momentum is there that will doubtless carry the company to the top. Perhaps more than any other MLM industry executive, Ms. Keefe knows the changing culture of the health and beauty sector. She understands that Bioceutica’s target audience is much more discerning and demanding than the mass market . And she recognizes that the new Bioceutica organization must be better equipped than its competitors to deliver what its customers want and demand.

“I have always believed that unless you have the very best products that provide the best results to your customers, you have no right to be in business,” said Ms. Keefe. “I also believe it will take all of our collective courage and commitment to achieve our goals, and there’s no better time to get started than right now.”

“Bioceutica has committed considerable funds to ensure that Candace’s vision will be achieved,” said Mr. Nohra. “With her knowledge, skill and dynamic energy, we know that Bioceutica’s future is very bright.”

Zeek Rewards Refund? Will Zeekler Give Your Money Back?

Posted on 21 August 2012.

There is reportedly $225 million in assets scattered across international banks that a receiver (attorney) will be attempting to figure out what to do with.

Now, if your company needs to scatter it’s money across more than a dozen international banks, isn’t that a red flag?

So, if you are looking to get some of your money back, there is now an official web site within information:

http://www.zeekrewardsreceivership.com/

The site has case documents, an FAQ and a place to make contact via email.

Here is what the site says:

On August 17, 2012, the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) filed a Complaint in United States District Court, Western District of North Carolina, Charlotte Division, against Rex Venture Group, LLC (“Rex Venture”) d/b/a ZeekRewards.com (“ZeekRewards”), and Paul R. Burks. The SEC alleges that Rex Venture and Burks offered and sold unregistered securities in a combined Ponzi and pyramid scheme.

On August 17, 2012, Judge Graham C. Mullen issued an Order appointing Kenneth D. Bell of McGuireWoods LLP as temporary receiver (“Receiver”) for Rex Venture Group, LLC d/b/a ZeekRewards.com. The August 17th order directs the Receiver to, among other things, take control and possession of and to operate the Receivership Estate, and to perform all acts necessary to conserve, hold, manage and preserve the value of the Receivership Estate.

At this time there is no claims process and no distribution. The Receiver is currently gathering ZeekRewards investment history and harmed investor information from the Defendants in an effort to facilitate the claims process and subsequent distribution to harmed investors.

"It is not a scam ...I have to earn money... "

Posted on September 17, 2012.

We I'm exposed to a lot of companies over the years, including the Bioperformance, ad Surf Daily, Burnlounge, MyMusicTicket, iJango and others.

And I bet there are more than 100 comments on this blog, which suggests that the scam company is not a scam because people make money.

The logic of the argument is crazy.

There is really no different than suggests that drugs is OK, because "Hey, can make money."

But until now, there hasn't been much of a deterrent to keep people off the scams, such as Zeek awards.

Well today I got the news that the attorneys in the back to secure the money in the funds, now going after Zeek Awards, who made the money.

Check out this quote from the receiver to the Attorney, Kenneth d. Bell:

"Those who are trying to return the assets are subsidiaries, who took more out of the Rex Ventures than they put in," he writes. "Many of you got little or nothing from this company. In order to allow all so the whole, those who experienced the strong should be handed over to them. "

Yep, now the lawyers are not going to go after anyone make money with Zeek prizes!

Working from Home Tips

home businessWorking from Home Tips

Although many people absolutely love their career, and are happy to go to their place of employment, there is a vast majority of the population that dreams of working from home and starting a home business. Fortunately, in today’s world, this dream can be a reality for pretty much anyone who has the ambition to put forth an effort. It has never been easier to be your own boss, set your own hours and never punch a time clock again. However, the process of working at home is not quite as easy as most are expecting.

Working at home grants you a great deal of freedom. While this is certainly desirable, it can also be a pitfall if you lose focus. It is easy to blow off work for a day or get side-tracked, so much so that you are not really accomplishing much of anything. This is how many people fail, but rest-assured, with a few simple tips, you can make your time and environment work for you.

Workspace

Getting comfortable in your chaise lounge in front of the television or trying to work at the kitchen table while your kids are eating are not recommended environments. To be successful, you need a quiet and comfortable place that is free of distractions. When you are working, that is the only thing you should be doing.

Ideally, this space will be a thoughtfully arranged office with an ergonomic chair. However, this is not always possible. If you don’t have a home office or a spare room you can convert into one, you can make a private space. Use a large closet, set up a desk under the stairs or use fabric to close off a corner in your bedroom. Even a small studio apartment has possibilities available if you get creative.

Create a Schedule

When you physically write down the hours you are going to work, you are much more likely to actually stick with it. If you say you will work for a few hours tomorrow, this is far too general. However, if you write on a calendar that you are working from 1 pm to 4 pm, you are more likely to go to our work space and be productive. It is very rewarding to know you stuck to your schedule.

Lists and Goals

Creating a list of exactly what you need to work on every day will keep you on track. Not only that, it will remind you of deadlines long before they are due.

In addition to lists, you should write down short and long-term goals. Creating a realistic timeline of when you hope to achieve these goals will help keep you on track.

Don’t Accept Interruptions

Many people think that those working at home can be interrupted with no problem. The problem with interruptions is that for most people, it is hard to get their mind focused again. Don’t accept interruptions; other family members should know to not bother you while you are working unless it is an emergency. and you should not be accepting phone calls or returning text messages from friends during your work time either.

Schedule Breaks

If you intend on working a half or full day, schedule in some breaks. You do need breaks to eat, walk around, go outside for fresh air and regroup. Otherwise, you will find yourself burnt out and less productive.

Analyze and Adjust

It is a good idea to take the time at the end of every week to evaluate what you have accomplished, how much closer you are to your goals and where you may have failed at certain things. By analyzing your work habits and progress, you can make timely adjustments when needed. By following these working from home tips, you can better set yourself up for long-term success.

MLM Success Tips

MLM PhotoHave you been searching for network marketing success tips, but all you stumble across are a lot of sites talking about how great MLM is, without supplying you with any information? There is a good chance that a lot these sites try to make you sign up for weekly updates or buy an eBook too. Well, you do not have to buy anything to be successful; you will find the success tips that you need in this article.

Think Before you Act

One of the most important network marketing success tips to be familiar with is to think before you act. Jumping in full force to the first opportunity that presents itself is never a good idea. You need to make sure that the program is a good fit for you. Some MLM opportunities sound great on the surface and they very well may be for the right person, but the average individual will struggle to get ahead.

When you select an opportunity, you should ask yourself a few different questions, such as:

Is the company providing quality products that consumers will want and be happy with? How old is the MLM company? What is the pay plan?Does the company have a good reputation? Is the company still growing or has it peaked already? Is there a training and/or support system available?

Understand MLM

Many people searching for network marketing success tips really are not 100 percent sure what MLM is, or how it works. It is easy to say that you want to work for yourself and never have to  punch a time clock again, however, before you even get started, you need to have a solid understanding of what network marketing is.

Get Familiar With the Company

When you do pick a network marketing company to get involved with, you need to do your homework. There is nothing more embarrassing than a customer or a potential recruit asking you a question that you should know, but you have no answer for. You should know when the company started up, their mission, pay scale and everything you can about their products.

Time Management

One of the most important network marketing success tips is to make good use of your valuable time. You need to create a schedule, to-do lists, timelines and goals, and hold yourself accountable. One of the primary reasons people fail at network marketing is because they do not really give it their best effort. This will never work if your heart’s not in it, or if you are only dabbling from time-to-time with no real structure to follow.

Why Connecting With And Building Your Community Is So Important

If you take a look around at the most successful people in the room. If you look at their habits, what they do, what they don’t do, you will find one commonality. I remember first recognizing it in late 2008 and I still see it today. I know I will continue to see it.

It’s this magical principle of having a community.

Those who are most successful don’t just have some great product, or a big brand, or a secret traffic strategy, or get rich quick formula.

They have created a community.

So how do you do that?

At first, it might sometimes feel like everyone is preaching to the choir.

Whether it’s your fellow Renegade Team community, or the ViSalus community, or the Empower Network community, or the Warrior forum community, or the Better Networker community, you’re just starting out. You’re interacting a lot with the same people.

It’s absolutely NOT a waste of time.

There are some important reasons why you will benefit from this preaching to the choir so-to-speak.

You want to appear (and actually become) a social contributor.

It has to start somewhere. It’s part of the oft-used phrase, “Give value.”

Understand that as prospects find you at your blog, or Facebook, or Twitter, or Google Plus or YouTube (or other social networking locations) it is extremely helpful they see that you’re braided into a social network. That you’re a part of the fabric.

This is why it’s encouraged to have friends, fans, followers, comments, etc.

This is why we are building out The Renegade Blog guest blog program (for our Inner Circle members).

And social proof is a win win win situation for everyone involved.

It also shows that other people see you as a valuable contributor to the marketplace. That’s in itself is attractive.

No one talks to the wall flowers. You wouldn’t stand alone behind the tree in the shade at a BBQ would you? (or anywhere people are connecting with one another).

Well, you also don’t want to stand alone on the web (blogs, social networks, forums, etc.).

If you did, it makes you appear to be a loner, and that implies (whether it’s true or not) that you aren’t a go-giver. That you don’t belong. That you have no value.

This isn’t about being popular.

It’s about circling yourself with others, particularly when they are affirming your points, shining a spotlight on those who are doing it well, occasionally sharing your value in the mix. It makes you more credible.

From a more technical stand point:

Having a group of people who link to your stuff and/or comment on it too whether it’s the walled off garden of Facebook or the Google or Bing web, it improves your rankings. Because the Internet has, and always will view community connection as a sign you are valuable to others (as long as it’s natural and not some “game” you’ve got on autopilot. That rarely lasts long anyway).

That’s why social networking sites have grown so fast and are so powerful. They are the essence of “attraction marketing” because they are built on true human interaction and the exchange of valuable information, commonalities and shared values. They automatically (and quickly) reward those who are involved, interacting, and contributing.

There’s the fine line that many of you haven’t quite figured out yet. Don’t EVER tell yourself or make the excuse that you were busy networking if it comes at the cost of you building out the true foundations of your business.

Don’t let the resistance beat you with that excuse. Not allowed.

Find a way to do sew yourself into the fabric of a community (or communities) without it taking a lot of time. Without it taking away from building the core of your business i.e. your marketing funnel.

Find a way to make your rounds and more social in-roads so people think you’re “everywhere.” Again, without it taking away from more direct ROI activities (like getting targeted traffic to that funnel).

These days, funnel creation and social networking work hand-in-glove.

Similary, it’s also why getting your funnel built is so important. You can get targeted traffic from sewing yourself into the fabric of a community. When you do, you BETTER have a gift waiting for them (which they get with email address).

In conclusion, community connecting and building is very important even if it feels like you’re preaching with the choir. It’s beautiful music which makes the web go round. It also provides social proof. In tandem with having a marketing funnel built, it’s on every success leader and business person’s track record.

Do more of it!

Whether you’re a Renegade community member or a member of another community, don’t slow down with it. Keep it up. Multiply what you’re doing by 10. The trick is to not make it seem like work. Don’t let it take a ton of your time.

Leave a comment if you understand. Preach to the choir! Give an example. Write something that adds-on to this idea. Disagree! Make yourself known. Then share it.

Lawyer: “Long Time” Before Anyone Gets Zeek Rewards Refunds

Posted on 06 September 2012.

The lawyer in charge of whether or not people get refunds from Zeek rewards says it will be a “long time” before any of the estimated 2 million people see a refund…

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The receiver for a North Carolina company which officials say operated a $600 million Ponzi scheme that is on the verge of collapse says as many as 2 million people may have invested in ZeekRewards.com.

Charlotte attorney and court-appointed receiver Kenneth Bell said it will be a “long time” before any money returns to the hands of affiliates who bought in with Zeek Rewards. He said officials want to see substantially all of the funds before they start issuing checks.

Federal securities regulators last week filed fraud charges and an emergency order to freeze the assets of Rex Venture Group LLC. Online marketer Paul Burks of Lexington is accused in a federal complaint of raising money from more than 1 million customers on ZeekRewards.

It’s Official: SEC Shuts Down Zeek Rewards, CEO Paul Burks Fined $4 Million

Posted on 17 August 2012.

Here is the press release directly from the SEC:

Washington, D.C., Aug. 17, 2012 – The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced fraud charges and an emergency asset freeze to halt a $600 million Ponzi scheme on the verge of collapse. The emergency action assures that victims can recoup more of their money and potentially avoid devastating losses.

The SEC alleges that online marketer Paul Burks of Lexington, N.C. and his company Rex Venture Group have raised money from more than one million Internet customers nationwide and overseas through the website ZeekRewards.com, which they began in January 2011.

According to the SEC’s complaint filed in federal court in Charlotte, N.C., customers were offered several ways to earn money through the ZeekRewards program, two of which involved purchasing securities in the form of investment contracts. These securities offerings were not registered with the SEC as required under the federal securities laws.

The SEC alleges that investors were collectively promised up to 50 percent of the company’s daily net profits through a profit sharing system in which they accumulate rewards points that they can use for cash payouts. However, the website fraudulently conveyed the false impression that the company was extremely profitable when, in fact, the payouts to investors bore no relation to the company’s net profits. Most of ZeekRewards’ total revenues and the “net profits” paid to investors have been comprised of funds received from new investors in classic Ponzi scheme fashion.

“The obligations to investors drastically exceed the company’s cash on hand, which is why we need to step in quickly, salvage whatever funds remain and ensure an orderly and fair payout to investors,” said Stephen Cohen, an Associate Director in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement. “ZeekRewards misused the power of the Internet and lured investors by making them believe they were getting an opportunity to cash in on the next big thing. In reality, their cash was just going to the earlier investor.”

The SEC’s complaint alleges that the scheme is teetering on collapse with investor funds at risk of dissipation without its emergency enforcement action. Last month, ZeekRewards brought in approximately $162 million while total investor cash payouts were approximately $160 million. If customers continue to increasingly elect to receive cash payouts rather than reinvesting their money to reach higher levels of rewards points, ZeekRewards’ cash outflows would eventually exceed its total revenue.

Burks has agreed to settle the SEC’s charges against him without admitting or denying the allegations, and agreed to cooperate with a court-appointed receiver.

According to the SEC’s complaint, ZeekRewards has paid out nearly $375 million to investors to date and holds approximately $225 million in investor funds in 15 foreign and domestic financial institutions. Those funds will be frozen under the emergency asset freeze granted by the court at the SEC’s request. Meanwhile, Burks has personally siphoned several million dollars of investors’ funds while operating Rex Venture and ZeekRewards, and he distributed at least $1 million to family members. Burks has agreed to relinquish his interest in the company and its assets plus pay a $4 million penalty. Additionally, the court has appointed a receiver to collect, marshal, manage and distribute remaining assets for return to harmed investors.

The SEC’s investigation was conducted by Brian M. Privor and Alfred C. Tierney in the SEC’s Enforcement Division in Washington D.C. The SEC acknowledges the assistance of the Quebec Autorite des Marches Financiers and the Ontario Securities Commission.

What I Hate About Today’s MLM Bloggers…

Posted on 12 September 2012.

Warning: (It’s 10:54am Pacific Time) and I am typing this before I have had the pleasure of polishing off my Starbucks Coffee…

…so I’m not completely sure what is gonna happen, but here goes.

I am so sick and tired of seeing today’s MLMbloggers writing the same “InsertNameOfCompanyThenInsertScam” blog posts, I want to scream.

“We”, meaning our industry (collectively) are so much better than that trash.

I’m having a hard time finding real blogs on the subject of Network Marketing that are worth reading and I know for a fact, that you have a story to tell.

You have a tip to share…or a struggle that others might empathize with.

Here’s what the ding-dong blogger brigade doesn’t get:

People in your niche are craving a real person to connect with, not some faux “brand me” leader who is trying to impress everyone with his knowledge even though he has never sponsored anyone or generated a single lead online.

Yes, it’s about branding you, but not a phony, fake, non-authentic version of you.

How about we start sharing real stuff like, “Here’s what I learned today from my coach/mentor today and here’s what I’m doing to implement it”.

Or take a cell-phone video of you making your favorite shake recipe.

Or interview someone in your upline.

Or test out a Facebook Ad and tell people exactly how it went.

No one, outside of my coaching students = ) is blogging like this.  (OK there are a couple of leaders doing it, but not more than a handful).

The Big Problem: I know there is a disconnect between having neat ideas to blog about, writing and the dreaded technical side of launching a WordPress Blog. Some of you really wnat to start blogging, but you are scared of the technical stuff.

And that’s why I co-developed MLMBlog Theme.

It’s click by click simple, complete with 10 tutorial videos and unlimited email support. (no excuses not to get it set up and running)

To make it even easier on you, for those who purchase MLMBlogTheme in the next couple of days, I am going to include:

The free bonuses are available for a limited time so don’t dilly-dally:

Top Tips for Making Money at Home

Making money at home,  via a home based business, was once just an unattainable dream to most, but today, nearly anyone can be successful at it. You do not need a college degree or a ton of startup cash. You do not have to quit your job or spend 15 hours a day at it to get started. This is a flexible way to make money. Depending on how devoted you are, it could be a residual income for spending money, or it could take the place of your full time job.

Put Thought Into Your Endeavor

There are a lot of opportunities available today to make money from home, but not all are legitimate. There are a ton of freelance positions if you have a special skill, or you can embark on a network marketing adventure, which is about the easiest way to make a good amount of money right now.

If you do get involved with an MLM company, take the time to do a little research. They all promise big things, but few people are able to reach a level where they see these promises kept. Explore the company and make sure you have a firm understanding of the pay structure. You will find that most pay scales pretty much require an owner’s manual to understand. Also, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Create a Plan

It is not enough to say you want to make money at home and then start dabbling here and there. You will find yourself side tracked and taking on too many projects. You need to set both short and long-term goals. What are you hoping to accomplish? Where would you like to be next week, month and year? You will find that when you physically write something down, you hold yourself more accountable. You can figure in a few rewards for making your goals too; it always makes the extra effort a little more worthwhile.

Don’t Expect too Much

Many people hear of others making money at home, especially with network marketing, and expect to be an instant success overnight. It is not going to happen! You do not want fast success that fizzles out fast anyway; you want to get involved with something that will continue to make you money for a long time. When you get involved with the right opportunity, you will find that in the future, you will work less and make more. Isn’t that all that anyone wants?

Forever Living – Is There Potential for Success?

You are here: Home // Company Reviews // Forever Living – Is There Potential for Success?

Although you may be recently learning of Forever Living, this is actually a 30-year-old company with networks in more than 145 countries. While there are a ton of health product MLM opportunities available, this one creates its existence around the aloe vera plant, making it rather unique.

Who They Are

The first thing to learn about Forever Living is that although they do produce a quality product, it is more expensive than what you will find in most health stores selling similar items. That being said, the product list they offer is extensive.

• Drinks – With 13 different types of drinks available, there is bound to be something to catch the eye of even the fussiest person. Still, $42 for an energy drink is a little extreme.

• Nutrition – They offer a ton of vitamins and probiotics.

• Weight Management – Everything from weight loss shakes to bars to supplements is available.

• Cosmetics – Eyes, lips and face are covered in this category.

• Personal Care – Skin care, hair products, laundry detergent, bath salts, soap, hand sanitizers, massage lotion, tooth gel, deodorant and more are available to sell.

• Bee Products – Another thing that makes them unique are the bee products they carry that you won’t find elsewhere.

How it Works

When you first explore this MLM opportunity, you learn that you get free samples as part of your training, which is attractive, since they are great products. While you would assume that these samples are all you need to get started after your training, they’re not. When you dig a little deeper, you learn that it costs $372 to obtain products to become a distributer. Then, you don’t even qualify for commission unless you place a minimum purchase order. This is probably why so many people label Forever Living as a scam. Not to mention, they advertise that there is the potential for a significant amount of growth, but they don’t explain how.

The Verdict

So, can you make money with a Forever Living home business? Quite honestly, if you are in a position where you know a lot of people that will use these products, you can. This is a great line. Everyone is choosing more natural products that are safe for them and the environment. Despite that these items are a little more costly, there are many people who would appreciate the quality and remain faithful.

The problem is having to come up with $372 to get started. That is a lot of money! Plus, you have to deal with the pressure of making sure your order is large enough to even get paid on. For the right person, this could be a great opportunity, but most will certainly struggle to see a return on their investment.

Blogging for Beginners: 17 Tips Before You Start Your Blog

Starting a blog is no longer enough.

There are millions of blogs out there, and most of them get nowhere because they don’t have a strategy in place.

In this post, you’ll not only learn blogging for beginners, but you’ll get 17 concrete steps you can take to dramatically increase your chances of success.

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t started a blog yet, or if you’re a veteran, because just one of these tips can make a big difference in your life and in your blogging.

With that said, let’s start with the first tip.

1. Passion

Don’t just start a blog because you want to make money. There are no shortcuts to success.

If you want to build a thriving blog that brings in revenue, you will have to work hard, and to stay motivated, you have to find something you’re passionate about.

Or at least something you’re interested in.

2. Purpose

When your purpose is weak, your chances of giving up somewhere along the way go up dramatically.

So ask yourself the following questions:

Why are you starting a blog? What do you want to get out of doing this? Why do you want to succeed?

If you have a strong reason for starting your blog, you will go far. This is a long-term game. Always remember that.

3. Niche

The next step is to find your niche. The best way to stand out from all the millions of blogs out there is to become an expert in a highly targeted area.

Think opt-in conversion expert instead of email marketing. Think turning your blog into a book instead of just general blogging tips.

Get specific and you will go far.

4. Solve a Problem

One addendum to finding your niche is to make sure you solve a problem.

Money is made by solving problems for people. If you can help someone get more subscribers on their list and make more money, you’re solving a problem.

So think about what problem you’re solving, and then do some research on if people are willing to pay for having that problem fixed.

5. Personality

To really stand out from all the noise, you have to inject your personality and expertise into your blog.

There are too many people out there teaching something they have no experience in.

If you don’t have experience, get some. The more you know, the more you can share with your audience, and the more they will grow to know, trust and like you.

6. Come Up with a Domain Name

There are many ways of coming up with an excellent domain name, but in the end, you alone have to decide what kind of name and brand you want to build.

A few tips for coming up with a good domain name is to make it:

UniqueMemorableEasy to spellConcise

Coming up with a name is tough, so go for good enough instead of perfect.

7. Tag line

Coming up with a tagline is not absolutely necessary when you’re starting out, but it can be a lot of fun.

Go for a tag line that communicates who you help and what you help them with. If you help small businesses get more leads on their email newsletter, a simple tag line could be:

“Turn your readers into leads, and your leads into raving customers.”

8. Pick Your Web Host

Avoid using a free blogging option like WordPress.com or Blogger.com. If you’re serious about blogging, you need a self-hosted service.

There are plenty out there, like BlueHost and HostGator. They are just a few dollars a month and will get you started on the right path.

9. Pick Your Theme

Next up is picking a WordPress theme that makes your blog look professional.

Again, there are several free options out there, but I recommend you spend some money and get a good premium theme. Some of my favorites are:

If you’re strapped for cash right now, go with a simple free theme and upgrade later.

10. Pick Your Plugins

Once you’ve got a web-host and a good looking theme, it’s time to get your plugins in order.

Keep the amount of plugins you use to a minimum. Each plugin you add will (usually) make your site slower, which isn’t the best thing you can do.

Here’s a list of plugins I use:

Akismet – to prevent spam.Audio player – to play interviews and podcasts.Broken link checker – so I can remove and fix broken links.Contact form 7 – so people can contact me.Google XML sitemaps – to create a nice and simple sitemap for Google to crawl.Popular posts – to help people find my best content.Sharebar – so people can share my content on social media.WP smush.it – to reduce image file sizes and make my site load faster.WP super cache – another plugin that helps my site load faster.

11. Analytics

The next thing you have to do is get analytics set-up, which will help you keep track of how many visitors you get, where they are coming from, and what they are doing on your site.

If your traffic isn’t growing from month to month, something needs to change, but remember, traffic isn’t everything.

If your goal is to make money with your blog, you should be building your email list, and converting that traffic into email subscribers.

12. Content Strategy

You need to have a solid content strategy in place, so think about the following questions:

What kind of content will you produce? (audio, text, video)How will you produce it?How often will you publish new content? How will you make new readers aware of old content? How will you use your content to grow your business?

Your content is what will build authority and trust. The more you can share, the more people will trust you.

13. List Building

I mentioned building your list above, and it’s crucial if you want to make money with your blog. Think about how you will get people on your list, and what email service provider you will use.

One of the easiest ways to start is to give away a free 5 to 10 page report when people sign-up.

There are many email list service providers out there, and they do cost money, but it’s an investment worth making. One of my favorites is Aweber. I’ve been using them for over 5 years.

Do not skimp on starting an email list, because while you may save money now, you will end up losing thousands in lost opportunity down the road.

14. Monetization

The next step is to think about how you will monetize. How will you make money with your blog?

If you don’t want to make money with your blog, you can skip over this step. But I see so many people jump into blogging without having a simple business plan.

You have to have an idea of how you will generate revenue. You don’t have to be crystal clear, but there needs to be opportunities for you to do so.

Look at what people are already paying for. Go to ClickBank, Amazon, or just use Google to find products and services people are selling in your market.

15. Traffic Generation

How will you get traffic to your site?

Write down at least three traffic generation strategies that you will start off with. For example, I started with blog commenting, but I quickly moved over the guest blogging, because it was so much more effective.

To this date, I’ve written close to two hundred guest posts for different blogs, and they all keep bringing traffic to my site and building my list, and consequently, my business.

16. Outreach

How will you connect with peers in your field?

If you blog about knitting, how will you connect with other knitters?

This part scares people, and it scared me for a long time. Or to be honest, it still scares me, but in reality, it’s about making friends and being yourself.

Just write down how you can connect with fellow bloggers. Maybe you can comment on their blogs, see if they hang out on Twitter or Facebook, or simply shoot them an email.

Start connecting with people right away. Think about how you can add value to their lives and people will appreciate your help.

17. Expectations

Last, but not least, write down what your expectations are. Here are a few questions to get you going:

Where do you expect to be with your blog in 6 months? What will happen if you don’t reach those expectations? Why do you want these results?

If your expectations are unrealistic, you will be in for a disappointment, and you’ll probably give up.

But if you equip yourself with the truth, you’ll know what to expect, and you will keep going when the going gets tough.

Summary

Whatever you do, don’t just move on and read another article. Pick one of the tips above and implement it.

If you haven’t started a blog yet, look at the first few tips on passion, purpose and finding your niche. Sit down and brainstorm some answers and then move forward.

Starting a profitable blog is not easy, but it is worth it. It opens doors, helps you grow as a human being, and if you work at it, can help you make a living working from home, just like it has done for me.

It’s not easy, but it can be done.

How to Increase Traffic to Your Site in a Home Based Business

You are here: Home // Home Based Business // How to Increase Traffic to Your Site in a Home Based Business

Online home business

One of the most important parts of a home based business in the Internet age is to have your own website. But once you have your website, you should be trying to increase traffic to it, because ultimately, the more traffic you have, the more people will choose your services and increase your bottom line. But there’s a difference between quality traffic and quantity traffic and the following ideas will help you sort out that difference and help you benefit your home based business the most.

Start a blog

The single most effective strategy you can use to increase traffic to your online business on a daily basis is to start a blog. Ideally, you want to be blogging about something you are an expert and a professional in, so when people read your informative (or sometimes even entertaining) text, they will be convinced that you are qualified to deliver the services you are delivering. Starting a blog in your niche and regularly updating it (at least 2-3 times a week) is one of the best ways to drum up interest in your product.

Marketing your blog

Once you’ve started your blog, the next step is to market it effectively. You can employ a variety of strategies to get the readership you want, but ideally you should do as much of it as you can yourself at the beginning. When you create your blog entries, then make social links on sites such as Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest that you can share extremely easily with others. A lot of people also use some sort of an app that posts to a variety of platforms at the same time. There are apps, for instance, that will post a snipped of your text to a Faceb
ook or a Linkedin comment. You can also upload your blog post not just to your own blog but onto your Facebook notes. Furthermore, you can take the description of the webpage and submit it to Twitter, Reddit or Digg. Automate it as much as possible with an app to save time and people will share your content by themselves.

Creating quality not quantity

Another very important aspect of any blog is to create as high quality products as possible. By starting in your own niche, you will automatically have an advantage. But even if you have no writing skills, then don’t shy away from blogging. You may need to hire a few writers to deliver your content, but this is still a lot better than not having content at all.

A Sad Christmas, A New Marketing Strategy, and a Box Made of Gold (My Business Breakthrough Story)

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I checked my email.  I scanned the boring list  quickly and it just wasn’t there.

My head dropped to my computer desk.

Tears squeezed out of my eyes.

And I thought, “This is very hard. I’m so disappointed. What am I doing wrong?”

I flashed backed to that devastating Christmas morning when I was 9 years old. It seemed to be happening to me again.

The anticipation and excitement is only surpassed by the sudden “best” behavior possible.

We didn’t have much money, but my parents tried to makeviewmaster & reels - Page 001  Christmas  memorable.

There was only one thing I wanted that year and it was a plastic box for my viewmaster and reels – to organize them. (I have a bent for liking to be organized.)

I had seen one at a drug store that was beige with a brown lid. It had 3 separate compartments in it with one just the right size for the viewmaster itself. I think the cost was around $6 or $8 – definitely within reason for my one-allowed request for a Christmas gift.

Christmas morning dawned and all four of us kids lined up at the living room door waiting for permission to enter.

With my bare feet on the floor, I stood on my tippy toes to try to be able to see in once the door opened. It didn’t take long for the magical moment to come.

I ran to my designated chair scanning it quickly for the beloved beige viewmaster box.

I saw a stuffed animal, a bulging stocking, and a strange flat box.

I opened the box and it was a transistor radio which I hadn’t asked for. Not that I wasn’t grateful – don’t get me wrong. But the viewmaster box was nowhere to be found.

Tears welled up in my eyes.

It was all I had asked for.

I felt devastated.

Such a small thing, really, but a huge impact on this little girl with dreams of an organized collection.

I put on a brave face and gave hugs and big thank you to my parents, while struggling to make sense of the disappointment.

Christmas was sad for me that year.

The same disappointment engulfed me.  It overwhelmed me like a huge wave in the ocean – the kind that knocks you down and leaves you struggling to figure out which way is what way.

I need a large breath of air.

Here is what had happened – maybe you can identify.

I had started blogging about two years earlier.

I love writing and was determined to marry my love for writing with Internet skills so I could market my business online. I read countless articles of others who had been successful, and I knew I could be successful too.

I invested in training programs, and attended webinars like there was no tomorrow.

I spent hours on end optimizing my blog and writing interesting posts.

I created my awesome free giveaway, and proceeded to the big launch.

I syndicated my blog like crazy.

I commented on other blogs, joined “tribes” and put my links on Facebook.

Tomorrow would surely be the day. I’ll get some blog comments and maybe even an opt-in to my free offer, is what I told myself day after day.

Yes, I was like that little 9 year old girl on Christmas Eve many years ago. But the dreaded realization came that next morning when I checked my email…it was just like what happened that Christmas…

…What I was expecting wasn’t there.

No opt-in announcement. No blog comment waiting to be approved.

Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

What was I doing wrong?

I needed help, but didn’t know where to turn. The weight of the disappointment crushed me once again.

It was a Facebook Ad.

I was intrigued to discover Ann Sieg’s secret for generating leads online.

But admittedly, I was skeptical, and thought,  “Here we go again. Another secret that doesn’t work.”

Yet Ann’s video spoke to my pain.

Free is a good price so her Attraction Marketers Manifesto download was a no brainer. I was so impressed I even went ahead to invest in the Renegade Network Marketer too.

Ann had felt my pain and I wanted her guidance.

I feared another disappointment, but not so much so that it held me back from at least giving it a try.

This time it WAS different.

I studied those two ebooks and could identify with all that Ann wrote.

I joined her Daily Marketing Coach Plus program and was pleasantly surprised, and impressed to experience an “orientation” session with live trainers (not a recording like so many others do).

This was followed by sequential steps being laid out for me in my back office for me to accomplish on my blog as the whole 80/20 team (Certified Renegade Trainers as they’re called) helped to coach me.

I was making progress and had some incredible “aha” moments from the individualized attention and training I was given.

Later, the opportunity to sign up for a weekend workshop presented itself.

I was like the thirsty cocker spaniel chasing after a cute poodle in the park.  I lapped up all the wisdom the trainers dished out.

Would I really get opt-ins, comments, and leads who called me?

And would any of it translate into earned income for my business?

One of the Renegade team trainers, Eric Walker, challenged us at the workshop to implement a simple strategy known as the “3 X 3 X 1 Facebook Video For Lead Generation.”

I listened intently as he explained it to us. Eric is a great teacher.

It actually sounded a little bit strange – kind of radical – and almost ridiculously simple.

But hey, I’m willing to try anything that my expert trainers tell me to do – so I threw my hat into the ring.

I won’t go into all of the details about this strategy here and now. This post is long enough.

But if you want to know how this works, then I recommend that you join Ann’s Daily Marketing Coach program. It’s easy to join and at least 10 times worth the cost you actually have to pay.

After implementing this simple, yet proven marketing strategy, I began receiving comments, and even had people inquiring “Where is the next video?”

Pretty fun interactions. Those are the kinds we all like having.

I implemented everything I was instructed to do.

Morning dawned and I opened my email as I always do before breakfast and exercising.

Well, what do you know!

I had 3 opt-in notifications.

Now that was fun!

Over the next few hours … 3 more opt-ins.

And the gift keeps on giving. I receive opt-ins to at least one of my offers at my blog almost every day.

I have comments on my posts daily.

I’ve even had leads call me. . . just like Ann said would happen!

I have sold 3 Renegade ebooks already through my follow up emails and have had one person interested in joining me in business.

Guess what that means?

M.O.N.E.Y.

Yep – So far I have earned $454 through the affiliate book sale (since I joined the Renegade system) in addition to sales of the product I sell for my primary network marketing business.

This reminds me of . . .  well, it’s kind of like . . . a viewmaster organizing box made of pure gold!

I plan to use this golden marketing strategy over and over again.

Just watch me.

And try it for yourself.

After the Christmas hub-bub died down that devastating year, my mom sensed my disappointment.

(Moms are good like that).

She allowed me to take the money I had saved up to that drug store and buy that viewmaster organizing box myself. The dollars were crumpled up in my little purse and the coins rattled together as we walked into that store.

I marched right over to the shelf I had seen it and sure enough, it was still there.

I gingerly took it off the shelf -excited to realize my dream of having my viewmaster and little library of reels all organized.

I took action to get it.

And isn’t that just like our online businesses?

If we want something badly enough, we have to take action to get it for ourselves. Over and over and over again.

If you are wanting to get results from your online marketing efforts, then do what I did…  Join Ann’s Daily Marketing Coach program (EDITOR’S NOTE: More details about the Daily Marketing Coach will be coming soon).

We can no longer wait for a gift to be handed to us on Christmas morning. Sometimes (most of the time) we just have to get that box of gold ourselves.

Follow These Steps To Make It Easy For Your Prospects To Find You Online

The 3 steps outlined below are designed to relate to your audience first, then review a problem, or present your take on something, and last to recommend something – where you position your offer as the solution.

This is framed around the Internet, and use a video of Ann on YouTube (Relating to audience) as the example. Then I show you her (Review) content landing page that both solves a problem and presents Ann’s take on something that her audience has an interest in. For the (Recommendation) you’ll see her example for making a call to action to the Renegade Network Marketer sales page.

In a nutshell, what I’m teaching you here is how to use the Internet to make transactions.

This phrase best sums up what I’m advocating and teaching you to do:

If you’re going to use the Internet to make sales of any kind here are the 3 “web steps” to take action on:

Start with one of the biggest questions your perfect customer always has. Turn that question into a video.

We’ll be using Ann as an example..

She answered the question, “How do I be a solutions provider?” so Ann made a video about that. See it below.

Time to move one level up. Now you’re going to frame the bigger picture. In order to do that, you’ll create a post or a page at your WordPress blog that sums up your assessment of … not necessarily the question that you answered in your video, but… your top level approach to the question.

In Ann’s case, she believes that “Your business needs to be centered around you so that you have complete control over it, and in order for you to make as much money as possible, you need to develop your own business assets.”

Click the link below to see our example.

Your business needs to be centered around you so that you have complete control over it, and in order for you to make as much money as possible, you need to develop your own business assets.

Make a confident recommendation. This is your call to action. Consider the nudge you should give your audience because you know what’s good for them. After all, you do. If you know your target market, you should know what is good for them.

Our concise call to action is located at the bottom of our landing page post. It looks like this:

Learn How to Center Your Business Around You,
and Develop Your Own Business Assets.
Get Started With The Renegade Network Marketer Today

Of course, the hyperlinked Get Started With The Renegade Network Marketer Today goes to our RNM sales video presentation. And that’s the gateway to making a front end sale. That front end sale means much more than just monetization, it signifies qualification. That person qualified themselves by investing their money into their education. And it’s those people that you want to work with.

1). Make a video that addresses and relates to your perfect customers number one question. In the description area of the video, link to a post or page at your blog.

2). The post or page at your blog will be your top level approach to that question. You’ll reveal a theme, rationale or a philosophy about why you stand for what you do.

3). You’ll conclude with a gentle nudge (aka call to action) leading people to your perfect solution. This should more than likely be a lead capture page, or a sales presentation, or something that they have to give something in order to get something. The reason for this is to qualify them as something you might to work with.

If you have questions or thoughts, ask them in the comments.

How to be Successful at Network Marketing Online

You are here: Home // Network Marketing // How to be Successful at Network Marketing Online

Many people assume network marketing is something that has to be done in person. Well, although there certainly are plenty of MLM opportunities that require you to get out there, network, build your personal army and make sales, there are also online opportunities available as well. Of course, this is ideal for someone who is not comfortable interacting with strangers in person on a daily basis. It is also perfect for someone wanting to get into network marketing on a part time basis while still working their regular job. So, how do you succeed?

Take Advantage of Leads

Sometimes, leads come from unusual places, and you might not recognize them for what they are. You have to be aware that leads will come in daily when your marketing systems are in place. To set this up, you will need at least a dozen or more high ranking lead-capture sites. These sites do nothing but collect leads for you, but you need to act on them.

Make Use of Social Networking Platforms

You really cannot understand how powerful social networking is until you have taken full advantage of it and experienced firsthand the opportunities they can award you. Make use of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and have the potential to reach millions of people.

Set Goals

When you physically set goals for yourself, you make yourself more accountable. Write down how many leads that you want to take on every day, and make every effort to stick to it. Don’t be afraid to set awards for yourself if you stick to the goals too! You want to set your goals high, yet obtainable. Some people are only comfortable with 20 leads a day, if they also work full time or have family obligations. Then, there are also those that take a stab at this full time and set their goal around the 200 mark.

There are a lot of options, strategies and opportunities available to you, when it comes to network marketing online and your home business. Quite often, the most challenging aspect of the entire process is making decisions and hoping you make the right ones. The great thing about working online is that even when you go to sleep, go for a run or are on vacation on a beach half way around the world, your sites are still working for you and making you money. That is something to get pretty excited about!

Gain Real Control Of Your Online Business

It’s time to GAIN CONTROL, differentiate and establish yourself and play the role of an expert to begin earning an income with your home business. The couple components I discuss in this blog post are what will allow you to truly begin earning an income with your home business.

Take a moment and think about who you most respect in our space.

What are they doing that is different?

Here it is…

They lead with THEMSELVES and play the part of an expert. They indeed, might be an expert, or maybe they’re somewhat knowledgeable, or maybe they’re not any more knowledgeable than you. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that they brand THEMSELVES as being a leader because they do what leaders are doing, and they do it with their own unique spin.

Then they make recommendations of products and/or opportunities where they can earn commissions.

Even if you are just starting out, you don’t need a product to successfully follow this methodology.

You simply play the role of a leader, brand yourself as such by taking the actions that leaders take, and make good recommendations and provide valuable content to your optin  subscribers.

The Internet will never be too crowded to follow this formula.

When you do this CORRECTLY…

You will be able to grow and nurture an ever expanding network who know and trust you and will be willing to buy what you recommend.

The very first step is to Take Control of your business. This is critical and simple to do.

This is probably the number one thing people are doing wrong when marketing their primary opportunity. Just look around on Facebook.

Something To NOT Do. Consider It A Rule:

Don’t market your replicated website or direct company link given to you by the company as what you lead with. There is a place for it in your marketing funnel, and I assure it’s not what comes first.

Why would anyone buy from you if all they see is that you have a website just like everyone else? Besides, most people aren’t looking for another opportunity. They already have one. They want help building it.

…If you don’t, you are limiting your income (and your skill set) to the amount of sales you can close in a single push. Start capturing your own leads and you can push offers and valuable content FOREVER.

Now imagine if you had a system in place that allowed you to generate hundreds of leads a day, you’d make money automatically and people would be chasing YOU down.

That’s what Ann describes how to do inside of The Renegade Network Marketer.

Sound like a fairy tale?

It is, yet it’s not once you learn how.

Just a few small tweaks to what you are prob’ly already doing and your income will soar.

It’s likely that you have already begun your journey towards setting this process up for yourself by getting educated with the RIGHT information. Congrats! That’s a powerful decision to make.

Let’s Review The Main Points Of This Post:

GAIN FULL CONTROL of your marketing process.Capture your own leads into your own leads list so you can contact these prospects any time you wish with any offer or information you desire!

We’ll be talking more about this in the next few blog posts here at The Renegade Blog so if you like this information, you can have it delivered directly to your inbox via RSS. Do that here.

What I hate today's MLM bloggers ...

Posted on 12 September 2012.

Warning: (10: 54 am is Pacific time) and I'm typing this before I have had the pleasure of polishing off a Starbucks Cup of coffee ...

.. so I'm not entirely sure what's going to happen, but here goes.

I am so sick and tired of seeing the same "InsertNameOfCompanyThenInsertScam" today's MLMbloggers to write blog posts, I would like to shout.

We, or our industry (together) is so much better than that in the trash.

I have a hard time finding the actual blogs about Network Marketing, which is worth a read, and I know for a fact that you have a story to tell.

You have to share ... a hint or a battle, which, just like the other delved into.

Here is what the ding-dong blogger Brigade may not be:

People in your niche are in need of a real person to contact, some faux "brand me" Director, who tries to impress all of the data, even though he is never anyone sponsored or there will be one of the lead online.

Yes, it's about the brand, but not the phony, fake, the real version of you.

How about start sharing like "here is what I learned today with my mentoring today and here is what I am doing to implement it," the real stuff.

Or a cell-phone video you can make your favorite shake recipe.

Or someone upline to the interview.

Or test the Facebook Ad and let people know how it went.

No One outside of my coaching students =) is blogging, such as this one.  (OK, there are a couple of leaders do, but no more than a handful).

The big problem: I know that there is a Disconnect between having a neat ideas for the blog, write, and dreaded the technical side of launching a WordPress blog. Some of you really wnat to start blogging, but are fearful of the technical stuff.

And, therefore, developed a MLMBlog theme.

It is a simple click of the icon in the system tray, a perfect 10, video and unlimited email support. (no excuses not to get it set up and running)

Easier, for those who are buying MLMBlogTheme in the next couple of days, I'm going to include:

Sail The 7 C’s Of Better Blogging

Sail the 7 C's to Better Blogging
Aspiring blogger
New to blogging?

Wondering if you have what it takes to blog successfully?
Experienced and looking for tips?

If the answer to any of these questions is YES, read on.

The HOW of blogging is simple and at the same time tricky.  Understanding the 7 C’s of Blogging can get you on track.  This overview is the first of a short series where we will explore each of the 7 C’s in more depth.

For me, this topic is critical since Lead Generation is my primary focus and blogging is arguably the number one tool for generating leads online. Blogging is certainly one of the very few tools that you own and that can’t be taken away from you.

Better Blogging - Find You CORE

The first C is something you do BEFORE you start blogging.

The first thing you need to decide is: “WHAT is my blog is going to be about?” and “WHY am I blogging”

If your WHY is to create an online diary, you may not care if you have any consumers.

If you want to share your passion or if you want to cash in on your passion then you do want consumers.

Assuming that you want to talk to a growing list of consumers, the CORE is actually made up of two parts – your Center (passion) and a Crowd that is Starving for something related to your passion.

Discovering your CORE requires you to look in two directions at once (inward and outward).

Looking in two directions is a tricky task, to say the least, so we will take them one at a time.
First, look inward, inside yourself.

Find something you love or have always been interested in and would really like to learn more about.
Then look outside yourself.
See if there is a crowd with a hunger for something related to your passion.

Once you have both parts, you have a CORE for your blog.  This step is critical to successful blogging.  You won’t last unless you are talking about something that really interests you AND there is a crowd starving for your material.

Better Blogging - Consistency

Once you start your blog, CONSISTENCY is probably the number One task for better blogging.  It is a BIG C.  You MUST publish regularly if you want to gain a following of consumers.  We’ll cover this in more depth in a subsequent post.  The other side of consistency is your “voice.”   You need to pick a role (expert, friend, investigator, exposer, reviewer, etc.) and consistently use that voice.
Better Blogging - Congruency

CONGRUENCY is another BIG C.

You need to stay on topic or at least loosely relate you topic to your CORE.

For example, if you are blogging about Building Kites, you need to talk about the various aspects of building kites.  You may stray into the
kinds of people who build kites or something about you AND why you like building kites.  Talking about something totally unrelated – like politics or planting flowers will actually drive your followers away.

The bottom line is that if you can’t tie a post back to your core and aim it at YOUR crowd, don’t put it on your blog.  Write an article and submit it to an eZine if you REALLY want to write about it.

You can also Guest Blog on someone else’s blog that might be more related to what you want to talk about.  Information posted on YOUR blog should always be CONGRUENT with your CORE.
One way to stay congruent is to pick 4 to 7 categories for your blog.
Make sure each of your blog posts fits into one of these categories.  (Yes, you can have an “Other” or “Fun Things” category.  Just make sure that the vast majority of your posts are congruent with your CORE.)
Better Blogging - Content

“Content is King!”

I’ll have to admit, this phrase annoys me. It is 100% accurate and if you know what it means it make perfect sense.  On the other hand,  if you don’t know what it means, you  get nothing but a feeling of “I need to write well.”

Writing well is important, but it is not the whole story by a long shot.

Here is my take on what the phrase means.   The search engines (Google, Bing and Yahoo) are in the business of feeding their users the absolute best answers to the implied questions the users are asking when they search.

For example, if I search for a specific network marketing company, I DO NOT want to see 6,000 entries that are almost exactly the same. This would be a bad user experience.  The end result is that the programmers for the search engines go through some contortions to try and deliver the best content to the searchers.

This means that as a blogger, it is your job to provide content that would meet the current definition of “best content for the searchers” – in other words Content is King.

Key words and SEO are far beyond this short post, but it is critical to remember that your first job is to provide content that someone will find useful when they read it.  Useful may mean “how to” or “that was interesting” or “That was funny” or “now I know that writer better and I like them more”.  It can mean lots of things, but somehow the content must be useful.

In addition to being  useful, readers expect multi-media today. Readers expect and demand to see Videos, Pictures, or  Infographics.
There is another side to content. And that is the question of where to find good content to write about.
This is a very hot topic for bloggers.  You always start with “what do MY readers need?”, but it is possible to run out of ideas.   There are lots of posts on where to find ideas.
My three favorites for finding topics and ideas for blog posts are as follows:

Go to a book store and pull books about your passion.  Look for bullet lists.  Give credit where credit is due and argue, agree, add to, or subtract.  There is usually something there to talk about.Pull books on your topic off your shelf and ask yourself “Why did I buy this book?” and then “Did it give me what I wanted?”Look at the titles of past posts on other  blogs about your topic.  The titles themselves will spark ideas.

Better Blogging - Call to Action

You developed your CORE before you started.

You have a reason for blogging and a target audience.

Now it is time to make sure that you have a CALL TO ACTION in your blog.

It doesn’t have to be there in every post, however there needs to be a consistent, congruent and frequent CALL TO ACTION where you tell your readers exactly what you would like for them to do.

I like the concept of a Persuasion Shell which is material that you cut and paste at the beginning and end of every blog post.  This consistent and congruent message is the same every time a person reads your blog.  The repetition carries a much stronger impact than you can achieve with the same message being delivered using different words every time.

In your posts you can have Calls to Action that are unique as you talk about different pain points, however the Persuasion Shell can be your best CALL TO ACTION tool.
Better Blogging - Check and Adjust

A major part of Internet Marketing is checking your results and adjusting.

Even if things are working, you try for something better.  If the “better”  doesn’t give better results, back up and then try again.  You need to be tracking when you change your offer and see how it affects the conversion rates.
Better BLogging - Connect with Traffic

Too many bloggers feel that once they press the “Publish” button they are done.  The best bloggers, the pros at better blogging, the ones with lots of people following them. have a routine they follow after they press  the Publish Button. This routine puts them in front of thousands of potential followers.
Summary Against the FLow

The cruise to Better blogging happens when you have identified your personal CORE topic and audience.

Then your posts  must be CONSISTENT and CONGRUENT.

You must deliver CONTENT your audience can use.

For every post, you make sure your CALL TO ACTION is in place and CHECK (and Adjust) to achieve maximum results.

When you publish a new post then you must CONNECT with traffic.

The key to Better Blogging is handling ALL 7 C’s every time.

Now, print this post out and tape it near your computer so you have it to refer to. Also, please share this post if you found it of value. If you have questions or suggestions or want to add to your own ideas, please comment below.
